John 16:11 Fun

The context (John 16:8) is the Comforter/Advocate accusing the world of “of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment,” a confusion of “sin” with “mistake” (see this article). John 16:11 is the supposed explanation of the accusation of “judgment:”

KJV: Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.
NIV: And about judgment, because the prince of this world now stands condemned.

I add the modern translation because it adds a lot of words that Jesus didn’t say, but it explains what the translators think the meaning is. But does this meaning make sense given the context? Does this explain why “judgment” is equated with “sin?” Isn’t God or Jesus condemning the prince of the world a good thing, not bad? This is confusing, at best.

And of course, this isn’t what Jesus said at all.
