John 15:15 Fun

I run into a lot of fun and funny things in analyzing Jesus’s verses every day. I will send a few of little thing every week, mostly just paid subscribers. Today, the fun is the beginning of John 15:15:

KJV: Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth…

The Bible always translated the verb used here, poieo, as “do” (or here, “doeth”) but it primarily means “to make.” It means “to make of” when followed by a genitive as it is here.

…no more do I call you slaves because the servant has not seen anything this master makes of him…

The master is making his servants into something else: his friends.
